PaperWeight has been a home and stage to over 300 people in the last year (we can barely believe it ourselves). Storytellers, musicians, mindreaders, poets, movement artists and more.

Everyone is invited. This event is open to all life forms.

The spirit of a safe space in a space without a roof and without walls is one we will be experimenting with, and we can’t build it without you - your words, your art, your beliefs and you.

PaperWeight Outdoors gets its name from our vision to nurture people and environments by recreating/rekindling the connection between them; to explore a space so serene within our urban city, yet so far removed from the everyday hustle of our lives. We want to create moments of pause, reflection and appreciation for what already exists and nurtures us.

This will serve as a shared platform for the art of all communities on the same level - for musicians, poets, writers, dancers, illustrators and more from every part of Bombay.

PaperWeight thus far has lived, breathed, grown and transformed in the walls of our community centre (Helm of Eight) in Andheri West. We encourage a sense of community beyond art, with potlucks and a ‘pay by heart’ format. We have hosted 9 heartwarming sessions thus far of our format “Words and Things”.

We now wish to bring the spirit of a safe space, diverse live art forms and passionate people into nature. ‘PaperWeight Outdoors’ will be the curated experience of the coming together of a wide variety of performances across live art forms.

This event will facilitate interactions between people and communities that are otherwise separate, fragmented and invisible to one another. Thus bringing them closer, in awareness and consciousness of one another’s contexts, challenges and lives through the lens of art and storytelling.
